International Timber supplies products for Drake House retail park
International Timber has supplied Timber Brise Soleil to LouvreSol Specialist Projects for Drake House Way retail units.
LouvreSol fitted Timber Brise Soleil to the structural steel on the south-east side of the building.
Two areas of timber were necessary, one for a feature wall, the other acting as solar shading.
The aerofoil used was a custom design from LSP’s design team and was applied to Stainforth’s specification of the product.
LouvreSol then matched this to the best suited option from International Timber.
Wayne Barnett of LouvreSol said: “Both areas of Brise Soleil were installed for different purposes, one was used for a feature for the building; this is sometimes used for buildings to bring the Breeam rating up and the other section of the Brise Soleil was installed for its original purpose – solar shading.
“The installation was smooth and went in quicker than expected. We allowed Western Red Cedar No2 Clear & Better allowing 20% No4 Green Rekilned to 18% MC 50x200 milled to a 40mm x 160mm Fin Aerofoil coated with Mighton Ultra. Western Red Cedar was the architect’s choice of timber along with the treatment.
“The project at Drake House Way has since been completed to a high standard on all accounts. The architect was happy with the final finish of the Timber Brise Soleil.
“LouvreSol would not hesitate to use International Timber again for another project when necessary and appropriate. There were minimal complications between the initial enquiries to the final completion date allowing the project to proceed smoothly.
“We have regular visits from Field Representative Eddie Norris as well as our estimating team having regular contact with Bernie Roberts who is always on the other end of the phone to help us with our queries.”
