International Timber helps Kearsley bloom
International Timber (IT) was front and centre at this year’s Kearsley in Bloom following a donation of timber for an exciting public project.
IT was approached by Kurt, of our wood machinists, to donate timber for Kearsley’s latest community project, in which four giant frames were created to enable real-life family portraits for visitors of Kearsley in Bloom.
Kearsley in Bloom is now held annually, and International Timber’s frames are still being put to good use!
This year however, another community project was launched to commemorate the Unity Brook colliery disaster, which occurred over 100 years ago. Remarkably, one of the frames International Timber had donated was placed where the colliery once stood. A replica coal cart was made and placed behind the frame to honour the victims of the disaster, and will remain there indefinitely.
International Timber is proud to be associated with Kearsley in Bloom, and is thankful that the frames donated are now being used to uphold the memory of those affected by Unity Brook.
