International Timber supplies C24 grade timber to O’Donnell Brown Architects
International Timber recently teamed up with O’Donnell Brown Architects to construct a community classroom – a self-initiated research project and build.
Composed of a simple timber structure, the space is an adaptable outdoor learning environment for schools and community groups, which employs a functional and periodic design. Timber was also used to provide seating, shelving, worktops and even presentation surfaces.
The Community Classroom provides a system which promotes and supports creative and independent learning in a healthy, versatile and fun environment.
International timber supplied C24 grade timber, which was used as a result of its high strength and regularity. The structural timber product was stained white so it would match the WISA ply which formed the roof.
O’Donnell Brown worked in collaboration with Barnardo’s Works during the build process and four young volunteers from the charity programme assisted in the painting and construction of the timber frame.

Now complete, the space has housed a number of local community groups as well as being on show during Doors Open Day 2019.
The partnership between International Timber and O’Donnell Brown Architects continues to flourish and there are currently a number of further events and projects in progress.
