International Timber receives highest sustainability rating from WWF

International Timber has been awarded the highest sustainability score in a new report from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

As part of our parent company, Saint-Gobain Building Distribution UK, we’ve been given a three-tree rating on the organisation’s Timber Scorecard, which measures the progress of companies in regard to the sustainability of their timber and timber products in 2013 and 2014.

“The scorecard awards each company a score from zero trees, no apparent progress on sustainable timber and timber products to three trees, sourcing over 70% certified sustainable wood and have policies and control systems in place,” said the WWF.

Our Commercial Director, Gareth Jones, said:

“We’re absolutely delighted with the result, being one of only 22 companies in the UK that managed to achieve the WWF’s highest rating. However, we’re aware there’s always more that can be done and will continue to strive to refine our sustainability efforts.”
