Rated non-resistant to heartwood decay, moderately easy to treat with preservatives

Dries slowly with a tendency to warp and split, particularly on end grain

Working Qualities
Machines well, nailing and screwing is good although pre-boring is recommended and can be stained and polished to a very good finish. Performs best when dried slowly, reducing opportunity for de-grade such as splits and warp. High shrinkage and susceptible to movement in performance under variable moisture conditions
