International Timber headed North West for its latest project after supplying a Lake District-based Homeseeker lodge with coated cedar cladding earlier this year.

The lodge, situated picturesquely amongst a wooded area in the Lake District with a view of the lake required cladding for thermal insulation, weather resistance and to improve the overall appearance of the lodge.

International Timber offered samples of Mighton Ultra and once a colour was chosen, the timber was re-kilned to correct moisture content, milled in Trafford Park and coated at a bespoke coating facility in Chorley.

The customer loved the coated cedar cladding to such an extent that they decided to buy more of the same timber coated in the same colour, but milled to a different section so they could skirt the lodge.

All the internal walls are clad with abbotts white sawn-faced coated cladding to provide a soft juxtaposition to the outside of the build. Once the lodge was sited, Dura composite decking was chosen and supplied in charcoal to finish-off the lodge.
