International Timber was approached by the HACS Group to provide Sapele for a multimillion pound, five star luxury retreat.
The retreat, based in the heart of North Yorkshire, required Sapele for the creation of two bespoke, hand built Japanese footbridges.
The retreat’s facilities include a state of the art spa and numerous restaurants, as well as an underground nightclub and a spectacular garden. The Japanese and English heritage gardens are now home to the stunning footbridges, which ferry people over picturesque ponds in the centre of the estate.
Sapele was chosen by HACS’ joinery division due to their team’s previous knowledge of its durable, attractive characteristics and its ability to achieve the right natural oiled finish required by the client.
The job, completed last summer, was a total success. So much so that the client has shown interest in having another bridge created for their private residence.
