International Timber recently provided a social housing scheme with bamboo timber decking for their latest London project.
The Bamboo decking is being used to finish off the balcony areas for each apartment – 96 in total.
From the offset the client was keen to use bamboo decking in their design, so to ensure the best product was delivered, International Timber was approached to source samples. Once these samples were sourced and approved, the client became confident that the supply could be fulfilled, and the product was forward-purchased.
It was imperative to the project that the correct fixings were specified and purchased for each balcony, so International Timber and the client worked closely to ensure all details were inspected and agreed.
What started off as a one-off project has turned into a prosperous professional relationship, and the client is certain that bamboo decking is expected to be specified on other projects going forward, in which International Timber will be the key provider.
A spokesperson for the social housing developer, said: “The decking looks very good in place and we’re very pleased with its finish and look. The project is now set to be completed by the end of June 2018.”
